Thai composer Patiparn Jaikampan (ปฏิภาณ ใจคำปัน) was the recipient of the Einojuhani Rautavaara Prize, Young Thai Artist Award and Princess Galyani Vadhana Youth Orchestra Composition Competition.
His works have been performed in many festivals such as “Asia- Europe” New Music Festival (Vietnam), ACL Conference and Festival (Japan), Beijing Modern Music Festival (China), Burapha Music and Performing Arts International Festival (Thailand), Festival Neue Musik Lüneburg (Germany), Intercultural Transfers in Music (Singapore), Musica Nova Helsinki (Finland), Pieces of Snow: Contemporary Music Festival (USA), Tenso Day Amsterdam (Netherland), The First Asian Saxophone Congress (Taiwan), Time of Music Festival (Finland), Thailand International Composition Festival, Tianjin May Festival (China), Winter International Arts Festival (Russia), Yogyakarta Contemporary Music Festival (Indonesia) and more.
His works have been performed by Tatarstan State Orchestra, Sun Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Marga Marga, Princess Galyani Vadhana Youth Orchestra, PGVIM Guitar Orchestra, Salaya Saxophone Ensemble, Helsinki Chamber Choir, Festino Chamber Choir, conductor Peter Veale, conductor Nils Schweckendiek, conductor Kah Chun Wong, pianist Bennett Lerner, cellist Katharina Gross, violist Michael Hall and harpist Amy Tam.
Beside composing contemporary music, he also keens on composing for films, TV series and documentaries. Recently, He scored for “Bussaba Lui Fai” on ThaiPBS channel directed by the National Artist Suprawat Padmasuta.
He studied composition, jazz composition and film scoring at the College of Music, Payap University. He also studied a short term composition program at the Modern Academy in Hong Kong and participated the Opera Creation Workshop at the Académie du Festival d’Aix, France and the International Master-courses in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Currently, Patiparn is based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He also gives lectures and workshops for institutes and universities and in Thailand and ASEAN.
